James Felton

Club Director

This will be the 5th year for James at Club Red and his 3rd as Director. Last season, James coached the Club Red 17s team to a Bronze medal finish in the Open division of Junior Nationals. Additionally, the team won the 18s Fiesta Classic & Colorado Crossroads Qualifier, finished 2nd at the Reno Far-Western Qualifier, and won the Arizona Region Championships. The year before that, James coached the Club Red 16s which had a very successful year. That 16s team won the 18s Fiesta Classic, the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier, the Southern California Qualifier, and finished 5th at Junior Nationals.

Additionally, James has been the head coach for Seton Catholic in Chandler, AZ. James is in his 5th year at Seton and during his tenure there, Seton has won 3 straight state championships from 2008-10 after being a finalist in his first year in 2007.

Before coming to Arizona, James had a successful coaching career in California. His Roxy Beach 15s team won an OPEN division Bronze Medal at Junior Nationals. Before that, his Saddleback Valley 18s boys team also won an OPEN division Bronze Medal at Junior Nationals.

Jason Watson

Consultant

Head Coach 18-Jason

2012 will be Jason's third year with Club Red. He will be consulting overall with the coaching staff as well as coaching Club Red's 18-1 team. Jason is in his 4th year as the ASU Women's Head Coach. Before coming to ASU, Jason was the Head Coach for the BYU Women's team where his teams were 74-18 while going to the NCAA tournament three straight years. In 2007, his BYU team finished 24-8, made it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament, and finished the season ranked 12th in the Nation. As a player, Jason was a four year starting setter at BYU and was named an All-American in 1994.

Tina Arambru

Assistant Coach 18-Jason

Tina played volleyball at the University of Maryland, where she started her Junior and Senior seasons. Maryland finished as ACC champions 3 of the 4 years she played there. After graduating college, Tina coached at Maryland Juniors for two years.

Brian Hosfeld

Head Coach 18-Brian

Brian is currently an Assistant Coach at University of Utah for this season. Before moving to Arizona, he served as the top Assistant Coach at the University of Texas and helped the Longhorns make three Final Four appearances. Before his time at UT, Brian was Head Coach at Baylor University.

Stephanie Preach

Assistant Coach 18-Brian

Stephanie is the starting Libero for ASU. She played at Xavier where she set for three State Championship teams and was twice named Gatorade Player of the Year.

Andrew Guthrie

Head Coach 16-Andrew

After playing and coaching for the NAU Men's volleyball team, Andrew coached for the McClintock Girls and Boys programs for three years and he coached club ball at Aspire. Additionally, Andrew started the Boys program at Seton Catholic, guiding them to the playoffs in their second year. He also assists the Seton girls program.

Deb Edwards

Deb has been a part of Club Red for 13 years as a player and coach. She started coaching for Red in 1999. Her 2009 team finished 2nd in AZ Region. She coached at Chandler – Gilbert CC from 2000-02 as an Assistant and was head coach of Dobson High School from 03-07.

Sonia Jones

Head Coach 16-Sonia

Club Red is excited to have Sonia join their coaching staff. Sonia comes to Club Red with experience from Molten and Arizona Heat Volleyball Clubs from 1997-2004 where she served in capacities including assistant coach, head coach, and club director. Her 2003 Molten 18s team took 2nd place at the 46th Annual Haili Volleyball Tournament in Hilo, Hawaii. Sonia also has assistant coaching and volunteer assistant experience at Highland High School, South Mountain, and Chandler-Gilbert Community Colleges. Sonia played collegiately at Chaminade University in Hawaii and Grand Canyon University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Fitness, Wellness, and Health from GCU. Sonia has a Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Northern Arizona University and is currently the Department Chair of Fire Science/EMT at Mesa Community College after serving seven years as a professional Firefighter/Paramedic.

Ben Lee

Head Coach 14-Ben

A native of the Silicon Valley in Northern California, Ben Lee will be coming back for his second year at Club Red. Lee brings 10 years of coaching experience to Club Red, most recently having worked with the 2011 A2 USA Women's National Team winning a Silver Medal at Nationals in Dallas, TX and the 2011 Club Red 17's team winning a Bronze Medal in the Open Division at Junior Nationals in Atlanta, GA.

Prior to coaching in Arizona, Ben coached at City Beach Volleyball Club as the 18-Black Assistant Coach (2009-2010) and 14-Black Head Coach both teams qualifying for the 2010 Junior Olympics with his 14's team earning a Silver Medal. Lee's club teams have qualified for the Junior Olympics for the past 6 years (2006-2011) in multiple age groups.

Lee also has experience coaching high school at St. Francis in Mt. View who were ranked as the #1 High School in the Nation last year, and Valley Christian High School in San Jose, CA.

He has worked with and trained multiple high school athletes that have gone on to play in various levels of college volleyball including conferences such as the Pac-12, WCC, WAC, and the Big West.

Ben is currently on staff with the Arizona State Women's Volleyball team as the Volunteer Assistant Coach and will be available for individual and small group training prior to and throughout this upcoming season.

Bethany Jorgensen

Assistant Coach 14-Ben

Bethany will be returning for her second year as a Club Red coach. After graduating from Corona Del Sol High School here in Arizona, Bethany is now playing volleyball at Arizona State University. Bethany spent her last year of Club Volleyball playing at Club Red, where she enjoyed a successful senior season. Her team finished 3rd at Colorado Crossroads and qualified for Nationals. Bethany is enjoying the transition from player to coach at Club Red.

Amanda Jackson

This will be Amanda's second year at Club Red after coaching our 14-Red team last year. Amanda started coaching at Coronado and is now an Assistant for Seton Catholic.

Steve Crook

Head Coach 13-Steve

Steve founded Club Red in 1992 and was club director for 17 years before turning the reigns over to James Felton two years ago. Steve has coached every level at Red from 12's to 18's. He coached from 1991 to 2008 at Westwood HS in Mesa where he won one astate championship and finished runners-up twice. He also initiated the prestigious Tournament of Champions, which features the top HS teams in AZ every September at various sites in Mesa. Steve coached at Central Arizona College from 1984-1989 leading the Vaqueros to a top 4 finish in the ACCAC each year while coaching 6 NJCAA All-Americans. Steve was a finalist for National HS Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2008. He has also served the Arizona Region as a member of the Junior Board and as the region's Junior Tournament Coordinator. Steve is currently the coach at Tesseract School in Scottsdale where he coaches the 5/6, 7/8, and Upper School teams.

Sara Patterson

Assistant Coach 13-Steve

This is Sara's second year coaching at Club Red. In 2011 she assisted Coach Crook on the highly ranked Club Red 12-Mizuno team. In 2012 she will move up with Coach Crook and assist on the Club Red 13's team.

Sara grew up in Phoenix where she played club volleyball and competed on varsity at Valley Lutheran HS. She currently is the Assistant Athletic Director at Tesseract School in Phoenix. At Tesseract, Sara has coached both middle and high school teams to championship seasons. Her current 5th-6th grade team is undefeated.

Alexandra Andazola

Head Coach 13-Alexandra

This will be Alex's second year at Club Red. Before starting her coaching career, Alexandra played at Scottsdale Community College and is currently the Freshmen coach for Queen Creek.

Scott Lungren

Head Coach 13-Scott

Scott started out by coaching elementary school volleyball at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Tempe. As an Assistant Coach at Seton Catholic for 9 years, he was a part of 4 State Championships. Scott then became the Head Coach at Veritas Prep and guided them to their 2010 State Championship. In club, Scott has coached at AZ Sky & Spiral and has qualified 4 teams for Junior Nationals, one of which placed 5th in the National Division.
